Creative practice
About
I'm a Freelance Singapore-based director and writer working across theatre, live entertainment and experiential storytelling in English and Mandarin.
With a foundation in theatre, my practice has expanded across original concept development, character and world building, large-scale entertainment, and experiences that bring audiences into the storytelling itself.
My work spans both artistic creation and creative leadership. At Nine Years Theatre, where I am an Associate Artist, I have directed contemporary and classical works while helping establish and shape the company's Theatre for Young Audiences programme. This has involved developing original stories, characters and participatory experiences, as well as contributing to the programme's longer-term creative direction.
Beyond theatre, I worked as Show Director for Disney Adventure, collaborating with international creative, technical and operational teams to bring entertainment experiences to life within a complex, large-scale environment.
I'm also interested in how storytelling can exist outside conventional performance spaces. My work has explored technology, site-responsive experiences, roving character performances and audience interaction, finding ways for stories to unfold through encounters, environments and participation.
My Approach
Whether developing an original concept, directing a production or collaborating across disciplines, I approach each project with curiosity, a strong narrative foundation and a commitment to bringing different creative perspectives together.
